Perth County OPP advised this afternoon that it’s new Auxiliary Officer was on foot patrol this past weekend in Milverton when he observed children there making good choices.

They were all rewarded with a “positive ticket” for their great behaviour.

The Positive Ticketing Program was introduced in 2010 to reward youth for positive behaviour.

It is an initiative with then Mac’s Convenience Stores (now Circle K) and it entails either Operation Freeze providing frosty beverages (launched annually on Canada Day) or Operation Heath offering hot chocolate beverages (launched on Family Day).

The reward is for such positive behaviours as practicing personal safety like wearing a bicycle helmet, doing various good deeds, participating in community activities, community pride such as picking up trash, deterring crime or observing school crossing rules and as an icebreaker to establish rapport with kids.
