Slightly cooler temperatures and rain on the horizon has not yet changed the status on the Perth County fire ban which remains in place.
The ban which took effect earlier this month prohibits all open air fires anywhere in Perth County which includes St Marys.
While open air fires are not allowed, recreational campfires are still permitted.
An open air fire is defined as any fire outside of a building and includes any fires which are not in a contained campfire pit or any other fires set in open air.
No burn permits will be permitted until the ban is lifted. The fire ban remains in place due to the extreme dryness of all vegetation in the area.
