Perth County OPP have officially kicked off their Festive RIDE program for the season.
Working alongside Stratford Police, the campaign is continue with various RIDE checks throughout Perth County running until January 2nd to ensure drivers are safe and not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Drivers are reminded under Mandatory Alcohol Screening law, officers with an approved alcohol screening device can demand a breath sample from any driver without having reasonable suspicion they have alcohol in their body.
Last year, Perth County OPP charged 7 drivers with impaired operation with a total of 655 drivers charged across Ontario.
Officers also issued 7 Warn Range suspensions across the county.
