Ornge Paramedics Vote 94 Percent in Strike Favour if Necessary

Ornge paramedics have been key in transporting COVID-19 patients

Ontario’s air ambulance paramedics have said its a last consideration of going on strike if they can’t get exemption from a provincial law which caps their salary.

Unifor, the union which represents Ornge said Sunday the paramedics voted 94 percent in favour of strike action if necessary.

Ornge paramedics have expressed issues with Bill 124 which took effect in 2019 and caps the public sector wage increase to one percent a year.

Ornge paramedics have been key in transfer of COVID-19 patients to different ICU units across the province.
