The Ontario Provincial Police provided an update as of noon today that the Search & Recovery Unit had recovered the body of the missing swimmer at the Guelph Lake Conservation Authority.
The swimmer was reported in distress yesterday at around 5pm. Wellington County OPP responded to the scene at the main beach at the site.
OPP were assisted in their search by Aviation Services, the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit and the Guelph & Grand Valley Fire Departments.
The coroner has attended the scene and a post mortem is schedule.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld by police pending next-of-kin notification.
