On August 28th at around 6:10pm, Wellington County OPP alongside Erin Fire Services, Guelph-Wellington Paramedics and Hydro One all responded to a report of an injured person at golf course in the Town of Erin.
Severe weather had caused a tree and hydro lines to fall on an unoccupied vehicle parked in the lot. The owner approached the vehicle to put out a small fire which had ignited when he collapsed suddenly.
The 59 year old resident of Halton Hills was pronounced deceased at the scene. OPP and the Office of the Chief Coroner continue to investigate.
A post-mortem is scheduled to determine the cause of death.
