OPP Find Quantity of Drugs During Traffic Stop

One man is facing charges after being caught on an OPP license plate reader.

On September 21st at around 11am, an officer was patrolling on Wellington Road 109 when they received an alert on their Automated License Plate Recognition system of a suspended driver and stopped the vehicle.

The driver attempted to give a false name but was arrested.

As a result a 31 year old man of Guelph has been charged with multiple offenses;

· Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code

· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine

· Personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice

· Use plate not authorized for vehicle

· Operate unsafe vehicle.

The accused will appear in Guelph court in November.
