Ontario’s top doctor says the more transmissible Delta COVID-19 variant continues to threaten the provinces progress to return to normal.
Dr. Kieran Moore says the province needs to vaccinate at least 9 percent of eligible residents to prevent any threat to progress.
The Ford government has listed the final step in the reopening plan which would lift virtually all public health restrictions can’t take place until at least 80 percent of Ontarian’s aged 12 and up have received one dose while 75 percent are fully vaccinated.
Dr. Moore however says he would like to see the full vaccine number bumped up to 90 percent.
