Ontario Public Schools to remain open during lockdown

2 Northern Boards have already switched to remote learning after break

Ontario Education Minister Stephen Lecce likely adding to the confusing about calling what’s starting Saturday morning a lockdown.

The province announced yesterday all public schools will stay open during the lockdown because as the Minster says they are critical for students mental health and learning.

The announcement was made at the same time as Ontario saying that the delayed break now set for April 12th to 16th will go forward with students who are enrolled in in-class instruction returning after.

2 Boards in Northern Ontario though Superior-Greenstone and Superior North Catholic have already pre-emptively moved to elusively online learning after the week off.

Some other Ontario boards sent out similar letters before retracting it after with the announcement from the ministry.
