Ontario Health West Region showing sharp increase in cases

Huron Perth ranks near the bottom in most data indicators but is showing pressure on ICU and Acute Care

Huron Perth Public Health released the regional snapshot for the West Region of Ontario as of April 13th. It shows that ICU capacity in the Region sits at 100% with acute occupancy of 75%

The region has received 2 patients from the GTA battling Covid-19 and expects a third as part of the joint efforts across the Province to share the burden on ICU beds and ensure everyone receives care.

Huron Perth sits second right now in weekly new cases per 100,000 residents at 32.9. The only region lower is Chatham Kent sitting at 31. Wellington Dufferin Guelph sits just over 148 for the entire Region.

In comparison Middlesex London is at 177 and Brant sits at 151.

Huron Perth has 1.61 percent positivity rate of testing which is the lowest of all the Regions in the area. Wellington Dufferin Guelph sits at 6.59% Middlesex London sits just over 6%.
