In a province wide referendum, 4276 voters in the Guelph and surrounding area voted with the full results being shared at Queens Park this morning.
97 per cent of the voters in the Guelph and area said no against private for profit health care in response to the provincial governments move to have some surgeries to private, for profit clinics.
Polls across Ontario were run by volunteers and organized by the Ontario Health Coalition with a ballot asking voters if they wanted public hospital services to be privatized and for profit.
Speaking on Tuesday, Premier Doug Ford responded saying he does not call it a referendum but a political poll which was driven one sided.
The Ontario Health Coalition says they believe the Ford government will need to respond to the votes as they head to Queens Park to share the results at 10am.
