Ontario Government Approves Plan to Rebuild LTC Facility in Stratford

Facilities in St. Marys, Mitchell and Milverton will also see Improvements and Additions at their Long Term Care Facilties.

The Provincial Government announced today that they have approved a long-awaited proposal to rebuild PeopleCare Stratford, which is set to create a brand new 160 bed long term care facility in Stratford.

The peopleCare proposal will restore and upgrade the 60 beds taken out of service in 2015 when a flood forced the closure of the previous facility on Mornington Steet.

It will further create an additional 100 new beds for a total of 160.

Stratford is expected to see it’s senior population of 75 and over grow by 78 percent by 2030 according to peopleCare.

Also approved in the annoucnement was 66 new beds for Kingsway Lodge in St, Marys to add to their 62 beds set to be upgraded.

Knowlcrest Lodge in Milverton will also see 3 new beds.

West Perth Villa will see it’s 128 beds upgraded in Mitchell.
