According to Ontario’s COVID-19 scientific advisory table, a three week lockdown in certain areas is necessary to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Officials with the table say daily COVID-19 cases could reach between 2500-5000 per day in just a few weeks if no action is taken to halt the spread.
Officials say a three week lockdown would be required in areas in Toronto and Niagara Falls where cases are steadily increasing.
The province recorded over 1500 cases on Wednesday, the single highest day since early February.
