More than 300 officers are going to be making their rounds on businesses to ensure they are following current COVID-19 protocols.
The Ontario government is ramping up its workplace inspection blitz and expanding, focusing on stores to ensure they aren’t defying restrictions, including big-box stores. Last weekend 50 inspectors visited 240 stores in the GTA and Hamilton finding only 69 percent of businesses were meeting public health requirements.
Corporations can be fined $1000 for failing to comply with the Reopening Ontario Act and Emergency Management and Civil Protections Act. Serious violations can run up to $10,000
