Taxi rates will be going up slightly in North Perth starting December 1st.
North Perth council reviewed the request made by both Listowel Taxi and TJ’s Taxi on the request.
The main reasons for a rate increase includes the current price of gas, insurance and the new minimum wage.
Clerk Pat Berfelz says both taxi owners have had to make the hard decision on rate increase request.
“During our discussions, I want council and residents to know both taxi owners struggled with increasing these rates and tried to be as fair as possible with their clients” said Berfelz.
Council supported the change with a flawless 10-0 vote with little discussion needing to take place.
