North Perth Resident Stopped With Possession Of Fentanyl In Wroxeter

A North Perth man is facing several charges following a traffic stop that took place in Wroxeter last week.

On Thursday July 28, at 11:26am a Huron County OPP Officer initiated a traffic stop of a sport utility vehicle that was traveling northbound on Howick Street in Wroxeter.

The driver failed to have his license on him and proceeded to identify himself with a false name.

The investigating officer questioned the name provided and through some further investigation the officer was able to determine the driver’s correct name and date of birth.

The driver was also found to be driving with a suspended drivers license.

Upon a search incident to arrest, the driver was found to be in possession of suspected fentanyl as well as a switchblade and unmarked cigarettes.

A 59-year-old North Perth resident has been charged and has since been released from custody with a scheduled court date of August 15th 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.
