The Municipality of North Perth will be flushing Sanitary Sewers in Listowel starting Monday August 30th.
This measure of preventative maintenance operation is done to help prevent sewer blockages and odour generation.
This isn’t expected to affect the majority of homeowners or cause any disruption of service. However the possibility of small spills, noise and odours could result in some homes, often known as blow-back.
There has not been any report of damage being done to the plumbing by this maintenance process.
If anyone experiences blow back, ensure your service connection and vent pipes are clear of debris and functioning properly. Flush toilets and run water in any sinks as well as refill traps in any floor drains which could be affected.
