The proposal for another community garden in North Perth has been turned down.

The municipality offers water supply as well as curb grass cutting for the gardens in place.

A garden setup on Nelson Avenue in Listowel acts as one for both the community and to provide fresh produce to the Salvation Army Food Bank.

While another garden could be seen as a benefit, Jeff Newell says at least at this time another isn’t necessary.

“With the fact we have 2 community gardens currently, staff feel the request for the community garden should be denied at this point.” said Newell.

Council agreed with the written recommendation from staff and has denied an additional community garden in North Perth.
