North Perth has approved the 2024 budget which comes with a 6.58 per cent property tax increase for residential properties in the municipality.

The approval of the capital and operating budget addresses the need to support municipal services and meet expectations of residents as well as invest in current and future infrastructure and asset needs.

The increase in the residential levy equals out to around 39 cents per day.

Councilor Neil Anstett who was the Chair for the budget says this time around they got started early on the budget to get more familiar for what was coming in future meetings.

“We started this process earlier this year, August 28th. That way we had the chance, all of council had the chance to get familiar for what was going to be presented in the upcoming meetings” said Anstett.
