North Perth council held a budget meeting overviewing projects and breaking down finances for North Perth.
Among the discussions, CAO Kriss Snell brought forward some services which could be cut or reduced to save money in the budget and go forward with certain projects. Some services include closing the Atwood Library branch, the Listowel Pool and decreasing the number of council members.
Kriss Snell says this not an immediate consideration, simply a chart brought forward.
“It’s important to note staff are not recommending any of these reductions just because we think the impact is too great to our community. They were brought forward as the opportunities that we think council could make if that’s the direction council would like to go” said Snell.
The next council meeting will be held Wednesday January 27th.
