Police say there is no threat to the public and no injuries have been reported after an incident at the Guelph Lake Conservation Area.

On May 14th at around 3pm, OPP were called to a weapons call at the conservation area involving a camper being seen with an alleged firearm.

Out of an abundance of caution, nearby campers and guests were evacuated out of the area as police investigated. It was eventually determined the camper in question had a pellet gun and was using to shoot pop cans at their site.

The camper was found to be intoxicated who was trespassed as a result of an alcohol ban on the premises.

Police say the camper was cooperative with police.
