Parade routes will not be allowed through the city centre in Stratford.
During a special meeting regarding parade routes, discussion took place but not much ground was gained as only two councilors voted against the motion.
All parades with the exception of the Remembrance Day parade will not be allowed on any connecting highway links which includes Ontario, Erie and Huron streets.
Parades will only be kept on local roads.
This move will likely cause the Kinsmen to cancel their Canada Day and Santa Claus parade events as they had said previously they would cancel the parades if the routes would only be kept on local roads.
