Following a review, there will be no change to the electoral wards for Wellington North.
Council first started the discussion of a change in May in response to the growing population of the township.
Two recommendations were considered to reduce the number of wards from four to two, with two elected representatives per ward or to move to an at-large system, something already used in Minto and Mapleton.
Discussion did go back and forth but when it came up it would cost around $60,000 for a ward boundary study before action could take place, councilors were quick to back off from the move, resulting in no changes.
