The Municipality of North Perth has been working alongside Eastdale Public School in regards to congestion and safety for pedestrians for drop off and pick up times at the school.
A study has been approved by council with OPP/EMS and North Perth Bylaw a block of Nichol Avenue South be converted to a one-way southbound only street. Manager of Operations Lyndon Kowch explains what this could all look like.
“Restrict some turning movements and also remove some parking spaces to allow a safer conveyance of vehicles. Also to create an EMS lane for traffic in the downtown core block to allow a northbound fire truck if its ever needed.” said Kowch.
These changes will come into effect starting the week of August 23rd.
This is an ongoing work of providing as safe as possible access for students at the school, if other modifications are made to the municipal roadway it will be posted at www.northperth.ca/en/our-community/construction-projects.aspx
