A new parochial school has been proposed in Wellington North.
At a meeting on March 25th council was informed of the two acre lot at the corner of Sideroad 6 East and Concession Road 4.
The county considers the land to be prime farmland in its official plan and township has it zoned for agriculture.
As per the county’s official plan allows for schools on agricultural land serving communities who rely mainly on horse-drawn vehicles for access.
Wellington North council approved a zoning bylaw amendment to allow the school plan to move forward.
