There has been a change of ownership at the former Wingham Golf & Curling Club with the sale of the property closing on January 30th.
The new owners of the site are Scott Bowman, co-owner of the South Port Golf Club near Port Elgin and a silent partner.
The club was offered for sale in October of last year and it now has a secure future as a golf course for the area.
The 9-hole course will now feature a new name being renamed the “Maitland Links Golf Club” being named after the Maitland River which runs through the golf course and the town of Wingham.
The plan is to operate the curling club as well with it renamed the Maitland Granite Curling and Recreation Club.
The club had been in operation since 1950 when it closed last fall.
