A packed Saturday at the Listowel branch of the North Perth Public Library as the community put their mark on a new mural for the branch.
Roshan James was commissioned for the mural for the entryway at each branch of the libraries with Listowel’s getting the community involved to have something hung up which saw residents of all ages taking part.
Library Board Chair Terrance Ritchie had high praise for Roshan, saying her work is always ensuring everyone is involved.
“She is an engaging type of artist, she’s hand on, she wants people to be part of the art process. Any of her art projects from poetry to music to visual arts, she engages with people and that’s what we need and that’s what we’re encouraging.” said Ritchie.
With the community having left their marks on the mural, Roshan will now put some finishing touches on it with hopes to have the mural in place at the Listowel branch by the end of the month.
