The province is investing $1.6 million for forestry workers in Mildmay.

The funding for Bernie McGlynn Lumber is supporting a major expansion and modernization project at the company’s sawmill.

This investment will more than double the company’s production space, increasing output by 47 per cent and create 5 new jobs.

The funding comes through the Forest Sector Investment and Innovation Program on Bernie’s $5.3 million project to construct a new 30,000 square foot facility and install upgraded equipment.

This increased demand for locally harvested wood will support harvesting, hauling and trucking operations while bringing more Ontario-made wood products to market.
