A community walk to honour the Indigenous lives lost in Canada’s residential school system is planned on Thursday in Stratford.
The walk will take place along the Avon River hosted by the multicultural association of Perth-Huron.
Organizers for the event say in addition to celebrating the greater parts of Canada and being Canadian, its important to show members of the indigenous communities to feel their sorrow and stand with them.
The walk will take place by the river between the William Hutt and Lakeside Drive bridges from 6pm-8pm.
Those who take part are asked to wear orange and walk clockwise whenever they can and to follow public health measures.
