This week October 4th to 10th is Ontario Agriculture Week.
Perth-Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece, who also serves as Parliamentary Assistant to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs spoke to it today in the Provincial Legislature.
He says each day there are nearly 49,000 Ontario farmers that plant, grow and harvest over 200 types of food. They produce fresh fruits, vegetables, high quality meats, poultry and fish, nutritious eggs and dairy, delicious honey, maple syrup and world-class wines.
He continued later to say that on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and our entire caucus, they want to thank each and every farmer in this province for being the agri-food heroes we depend on.
