Huron-Perth Public Health is reminding residents to protect themselves from mosquito bites after traps in Listowel and Mitchell have turned a positive result for West Nile Virus.
These are the first reported positive findings of mosquito findings for the season for Huron and Perth Counties.
Dale Lyttle, Senior Public Health Inspector says in the late summer months people are at greatest risk of contracting West Nile so its important to protect yourself while outdoors when mosquitoes are most active.
Public Health has been trapping and testing mosquito locations across the area since June 16th.
