Monkton will soon be celebrating their 165th anniversary in June.
The anniversary which is set for June 24th-26th will include many things to enjoy such as a pub night with food trucks, fastball tournament, a kids road hockey tournament and a history of Monkton display.
Sandra Machan from the Homecoming Committee says its great to finally get out and see everyone celebrate again.
“You know after 2 years of the restrictions of COVID we’re pretty exciting to get back out and see people we haven’t seen” said Machan.
Monkton will be painted red for the anniversary with residents encouraged to join in on the contest and decorate their homes.
