A Mitchell resident is facing drug trafficking charges after being caught with possession of methamphetamine in Huron County.
On February 25th just before 2am, Huron County OPP responded to a call of a suspicious person at a residence on London Road. The homeowner reported the call of an unknown person requesting a tow truck, saying his vehicle was stuck in a ditch.
Officers arrived on the scene and found the stuck vehicle and suspicious person. While speaking with the person, officers noticed a large machete strapped under his jacket. The suspect was arrested and searched.
The search revealed the suspect to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug packaging materials. The 25 year old Mitchell resident has been charged with Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Fail to Comply with an Undertaking.
The accused will appear in Goderich court on March 22nd
