Mitchell’s drinking water system will be undergoing a fire flow testing over the month of April.
This testing will evaluate the available flow rates at hydrants across town which will assess both flow and the pressure of hydrants.
West Perth says over the course of this testing residents might experience some discolouration of water due to fluctuations in flow patterns in the distribution system.
Flushing will occur between 8am-5pm.
Anyone who see’s discoloured water is recommended to flush their lines by running the cold water tap closest to your water meter for 10-15 minutes or until the water becomes clear.
