Plans are getting together in Mitchell for their Homecoming, celebrating 150 years.
Kicking off at the end of July from the 29th to August 4th the community is rallying to celebrate the milestone and pay homage to the rich history of the community.
Doug Feltz with Mitchell Homecoming says this is more than just celebrating Mitchell but the entire community of West Perth.
“We’re just happy to get everybody together. We’re hoping the whole community gets involved. Its been 25 years since we amalgamated as West Perth. Fullarton, Hibbert, Logan and Mitchell came together and now we’re one big community. We’re hoping everybody pulls together and celebrate. ” said Feltz.
Various fundraising events for Homecoming are taking place leading up to July including a pre-New Years bash on December 30th as well as cash calendars being available with $36,700 in prizes up for grabs.
