With melting snow expected over the next week and coming spring melt, this is now a good time to check where your sump pump drains and make sure its discharging outside your property and not into the sanitary sewer.
When sump pumps are connected to the sanitary sewer system, it can increase the risk of basement backups, sewer overflows, environmental impacts and higher operating costs for everyone.
