A former public servant and community and education advocate has voiced his intention to seek the Progressive Conservative nomination for the riding of Perth-Wellington.

Matthew Rae says he is excited to seek the nomination in his home riding. He adds that he believes they need a candidate who will not be out-worked, who is ready on day one to fight for them and their family.

Rae grew up north of Harriston on a family dairy farm and currently resides in Mitchell.

Mayor George Bridge of the Town of Minto endorsed Rae by saying that having grown up just outside Harriston he knows the issues and concerns that matter most to the Town of Minto and Wellington County.

The run to replace outgoing MPP for Perth-Wellington started yesterday after Randy Pettapiece announced his intentions to not seek re-election next June.
