Mary Simon is officially Canada’s 30th governor general and the first Indigenous person to do so.
Simon in her speech saying since the publication of the report from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, the country has learned the need to learn more about the real history of Canada.
Simon adding the truth will make the nation stronger. Simon promises to build bridges across the many backgrounds and cultures which reflect Canada’s uniqueness.
