Long time councilor Martin Ritsma is the first big name in the running. He has been a councilor for 12 years including 2 stints as Deputy Mayor.
He officially filed his papers on Friday.
Long time Mayor Dan Mathieson announced last year he would not seek re-election in the fall. The deadline to file is 4 pm on August 22nd.
