Mapleton Township is working alongside the Grand River Conservation Authority on a flood damage assessment study.
The GRCA has received funding from the federal National Disaster Mitigation Program.
The study will look into a comparison of long term costs of doing nothing to costs for implementing solutions in the future in regards to flooding and flood damage.
Mapleton council says there is no cost associated with the study for the township, simply only needing support from council.
Township staff will now work with the GRCA to provide what is needed to complete the survey.
