The Mayor of Mapleton Township Gregg Davidson will attend an upcoming Provincial Environmental Review Tribunal.
The purpose of his attendance is to read a letter recognizing the importance of the Darling Ingredients rendering plant at Rothsay to the agricultural industry of the area.
The tribunal is being held as a result of Rothsay appealing the amendments to the air environmental compliance approval.
If left unmodified the facility could see temporary or permanent shutdowns at the facility, face operational limitations or interruptions that could impact the supply chains and employment both direct and indirect at the facility.
Township Council gave the directive for Davison to read the letter.
