Talks of a change of the PMD arena in Drayton were discussed at a recent Mapleton council meeting.
CAO Manny Baron says the municipality is looking into an application to Infrastructure Canada’s Green and Inclusive Community Buildings Fund which would cover most of the costs for upgrades to the rink.
Certain ideas of what to add and improve would include a multi-use court for basketball, volleyball and other sports as well as a walking track and fitness centre. There would also be considerations outside such as a playground.
Council will hold a public meeting online on June 1st at 7pm to let residents propose changes and give their thoughts on the process.
