Monthly unemployment numbers across the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula Economic Region has shown locally its the largest unemployment drop of all economic regions in Ontario.
Across the area the overall unemployment rate dropped 1.2 percentage points to 4.2 per cent, being the second lowest in the province.
The overall population grew by 300 although the labour force dropped by 3200 people. Numbers were gained in the goods producing sector by 0.8 per cent with the largest being in manufacturing by 11.2 per cent followed by utilities at 10.3 per cent.
The biggest loss was seen in construction with a drop of 11.4 per cent followed by agriculture at 2.5 per cent.
