The Listowel Wingham Hospital Alliance received a report at a board meeting last week.
The summary outlined issues that are arising with the growing sixth wave of the Covid-19 and outlined a growing number of staff absences and the growing number of Covid-19 patient admissions.
Illness and staff absence levels are greater than in any time period in the past.
Predictions on the severity of the current wave have admissions in all areas of the hospital expected to reach levels that were experienced at the beginning of the year.
During past rises in admission due to Covid-19 such things as surgeries and ambulatory care services were postponed in order to have sufficient staff.
