The North Perth Chamber of Commerce held its Santa Claus Parade on Saturday and saw a strong turn-out from both businesses putting floats in the parade and community support by people showing up to take it all in.

General Manage of the Chamber, Sharon D’Arcy says the response really puts residents in a good mood heading into the December holiday period.

“I think this year was the biggest one we’ve had yet. We had over 60 registered floats and a lot more come in that we hadn’t had registered.”

The key message for residents is one of supporting local businesses that support us says D’Arcy.

“We hope that everybody chooses to shop local and support our businesses because they are the heartbeat of what we get to do every year.”

There are a bunch of upcoming holiday events in North Perth including the North Perth Firefighters Toy drive on December 3rd at Canadian Tire, Zehrs & Wal-mart, the 24 Hour Food & Toy Drive here at the Ranch on December 7th and the Angel Tree on December 9th at the Benjamin Moore store on Wallace Avenue North.
