The Listowel BIA Annual General Meeting is set for May 3rd.
Over the past year the BIA has been trying to adapt to a return to normalcy and has been supporting different events by donation or promotion.
Running from 7:30am-9:30am, the BIA will dive deep into their budget, plans for the year and the overall success so far seen for the year.
The BIA has continually run on an operating budget of around $120,000 with requests for the total budget of the same figure for many years.
BIA Coordinator Alyssa Kuepfer says she’s satisfied with the budget and where the near $120,000 all goes.
“A lot of that budget goes to staff, our beautification and marketing and promotion of the area as that pulls within our mandate of beautifying, improving and promoting the business and shopping area” said Kuepfer.
Residents in 2021 over the summer were able to enjoy picnic tables across the municipality but none were seen last year with some questioning if this was going to continue.
Kuepfer stated the picnic tables were just temporary to offer residents a place to sit down and enjoy a meal from a local restaurant when indoor dining was still shutdown.
The BIA AGM is being held at the municipal building with a request to RSVP before hand by contacting Alyssa at 519-444-8233.
