More hospital emergency department closures will hit this weekend.
The Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance has announced due to ongoing healthcare staff shortages temporary closures will affect the Wingham and District Emergency Department which will be closed on Saturday at 5pm to Sunday at 7am.
The Listowel Memorial Hospital will also close its emergency department on Sunday from 5am-7pm.
Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency as EMS will remain available to the community and be re-routed to a different hospital.
Nearby hospitals offering 24/7 service include Palmerston, Mount Forest, Stratford and Kitchener-Waterloo.
