As the Poppy campaign is set to begin with Legions across the country, the public is being reminded to be alert for scams.
The Royal Canadian Legion says they will never solicit money by phone for donations to the Poppy Fund and any calls you do receive of this nature is attempted fraud.
The campaign is solely promoted online with official ways to make those donations from the Legion website.
All donations received over this campaign will be used for charitable care and support of Canadian veterans.
