North Perth Mayor Todd Kasenberg has issued a Mayoral Directive using Strong Mayor Powers to direct staff to undertake a North Perth housing Acceleration Opportunity Scan.
This plan is aimed to find practical opportunities to increase housing supply which would be considered attainable and affordable locally.
Staff are being directed to evaluate municipally owned lands, lands owned by other public sector organizations and selected housing opportunity properties which may support future residential development, redevelopment, intensification, adaptive reuse or innovative housing solutions.
Kasenberg says as he plans his exit from office, he wants to see one last push made, a push for information and potential action opportunities to give to the next council for use in planning a better housing future for the community.
