It’s a first of its kind for the Avon Maitland District School Board with the launch of a new Justice, Community Safety and Emergency Services program at Stratford District Secondary School.
Grade 11 and 12 students can now enroll in the new program to connect with first responders, colleges, universities, government agencies and local law firms.
Students will have the chance to learn from a wide range of partners to get facility tours, sit in on university and college classes and get preferential co-op education placement.
Program Lead, Stuart Wilson says the program will be a launchpad for students interested in a career in being a police officer, firefighter, paramedics, lawyer, border security agent and more.
